Company History

HSW launched Hostelworld in 1999, providing an affordable online global distribution channel for hostels and budget accommodation providers.

In 2003, HSW acquired the next brand in its portfolio; Hostels.com. This was followed in 2005, by the acquisition of WorldRes, a hotel-focused OTA, which HSW subsequently sold in 2008 as part of its strategy to refocus on its core hostels business.
